The Cascade Institute’s Scale-up and Acceleration program applies research and analysis to the task of accelerating a clean energy transformation to address the threat of climate heating. We focus on discovering, developing, and accelerating virtuous cycles for technologies and societies, recognizing that energy transformations are the product of complex interactions between technical and social components of the energy system.
We pursue promising research pathways, analyze emerging data, and provide timely advice to frontline actors including policymakers, financial actors, and activists. Our work explores the technological, institutional, and worldview components of energy systems to effectively guide R&D, investment, and implementation of clean energy technologies.
